Grab, an on-demand mobile ordering platform offering travelers the opportunity to pre-order at airport restaurants, is now available at Detroit Metropolitan Airport, with participating restaurants such as Hockeytown Café and the Coffee Beanery.

“Grab aims to eliminate some of the stressors associated with air travel today,” says Mark Bergsrud, CEO of Grab. “Passengers no longer have to wait in lines for food, or run blindly through unfamiliar terminals for fear of missing a flight.”

With Grab, customers can view menus, gauge wait times, and place or hold pre-paid orders at the restaurants.

“With the summer travel season ramping up, now is the perfect time to launch Grab in our restaurants at Detroit Metropolitan Airport,” says Kevin Kelly, president of the travel hospitality business at Delaware North, the company that manages the participating restaurants at Detroit Metro Airport. “Our focus is to make air travel stress free and delicious. Grab’s mobile ordering service allows us to deliver both.”

Kelly says participating restaurants at the airport include Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, Le Petit Bistro, Popeye’s Louisiana Kitchen, TGI Friday’s, and Thee Irish/Guinness Pub.

Grab is available at 74 restaurants in airports in Atlanta, Austin, Denver, Fort Lauderdale, New Orleans, Richmond, and Oklahoma City. Bergsrud says more than 1,000 airport restaurants and retail concepts are signed up to join the platform.

The free app is available for both Android and iOS mobile devices.
