The Detroit Lions will begin their defense of the 2023 NFC North championship with a primetime home contest Sept. 8 on NBC against the Los Angeles Rams and their former quarterback Matthew Stafford. It will be the first of five primetime games for the Lions.
Other primetime games on the Lions’ schedule, released yesterday, include a home Monday Night Football game, Sept. 30, against the Seattle Seahawks on ABC; Sunday night, Nov. 10, at the Houston Texans on NBC; Thursday night, Dec. 5, at home against the Green Bay Packers on Prime Video; and Monday night, Dec. 30, at the San Francisco 49ers in a rematch of last year’s NFC title tilt on ABC/ESPN.
If one includes the traditional Detroit Thanksgiving Game, Nov. 28 against the Chicago Bears, the Lions will be in the national limelight nine times with three more Sunday afternoon contests being nationally televised games of the week. The NFL also has the option to promote additional games due to its flexible scheduling program.
After the opener against Stafford and the Rams, the Lions face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 2, a rematch of last year’s Divisional Round triumph. Detroit hits the road for a Week 3 game against the Arizona Cardinals.
Following the Monday night game against Seattle a Bye Week in Week 5, the Lions travel to Dallas to play the Cowboys in Week 6, their third-straight season with a road game at Dallas.
The Lions play on the road again Oct. 20 against the Minnesota Vikings, then come back to Ford Field for the Oct. 27 game vs. the Tennessee Titans and hit the road again for a Nov. 3 game against the Packers before the Sunday night game against the Texans.
The men in Honolulu blue and silver, and sometimes black in 2024, play the Jacksonville Jaguars at home Nov. 17 and at the Indianapolis Colts Nov. 24 before the Thanksgiving Game against the Bears and the following Thursday night against the Packers at Ford Field.
The home stretch of the 2024 season will be a Dec. 15 home game against the Buffalo Bills, a Dec. 22 game vs. the Bears in Chicago, the aforementioned Monday Night Football game against the 49ers, and the regular season finale with the Vikings at home on a date yet to be determined.
The Lions also announced their three-game preseason games will be on the road against the New York Giants and the Kansas City Chiefs before hosting the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Although season tickets for the 2024 Detroit Lions season are sold out, the team has a limited inventory of single game tickets available here while supplies last.
