Detroit Auto Show Renews Contract with Cobo Center Through 2026, Announces 2020 Dates

The North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) announced Friday it has signed a seven-year contract with Cobo Center, confirming the center’s status as the show’s venue through 2026. It also confirmed show dates for June 2020.

“Cobo Center is a world-class venue and the perfect home for NAIAS each year,” says Rod Alberts, executive director of NAIAS. “Over the past 30 years, we have hosted thousands of international journalists, industry executives and thought leaders, and consumers. We are delighted to continue our partnership and look forward to the transformation NAIAS will undergo in 2020.”

For the 2020 show, The Gallery will take place Saturday, June 6; the Press Preview will be Tuesday, June 9-Wednesday, June 10; the Industry Preview will take place Wednesday, June 10-Thursday, June 11; AutoMobili-D will be held Tuesday, June 9-Thursday, June 11; the Charity Preview will be held Friday, June 12; and the Public Show will be held Saturday, June 13-Saturday, June 20.

Dates for the 2019 show were announced in February and are available here.

The show’s move to the summer months allows participating brands to deliver exhibits and experiences inside and outside of Cobo Center, creating new showcase opportunities. Cobo Center has hosted NAIAS for the past 53 years.
