The Detroit Auto Show today launched My Drive. My City. My Show, a storytelling campaign featuring a special collection of Detroiters from sports legends and entrepreneurs to community leaders and artists.

The new campaign series, where people share their stories and personal love affair with cars and the Motor City, will be rolling out now through January 2025 and beyond.

My Drive. My City. My Show draws upon the deep emotional connection the Motor City and its people have with their cars, their community, and the Detroit Auto Show, next scheduled for Jan. 10-20, 2025, at Huntington Place in downtown Detroit.

“Our love affair with the automobile is uniquely Detroit; no other place has this kind of connection,” says Sam Klemet, co-executive director of the Detroit Auto Show.  “The Detroit Auto Show has been a source of this connectivity for more than 100 years, and this new campaign will not only intensify this relationship with cars, but also with the people and community that drive this passion.”

The campaign features Detroiters and other Motor City changemakers, including:

  • David Medina Álvarez, Founder/CEO of LIVAQ and CCS graduate
  • Ann Delisi, Detroit broadcaster and music aficionado
  • Dan Dickerson, play-by-play broadcaster for the Detroit Tigers
  • Mike Duggan, mayor, city of Detroit
  • Antonio King, drumline director for the Detroit Pistons
  • Cristy Lee, automotive, moto enthusiast, and TV personality
  • Stephen McGee, filmmaker
  • Jessica Care Moore, Detroit poet laureate, musician, and filmmaker
  • Jalen Rose, University of Michigan “Fab Five” legend and NBA Star, and founder of the Jalen Rose Leadership Academy
  • Nelson T. Sanders Jr., owner of Dandy Detroit

More Detroiters and Michiganders will be featured in My Drive. My City. My Show in the weeks and months leading up to, during, and after the 2025 Detroit Auto Show.

The multi-channel campaign will be featured in digital, print, and outdoor activations, including placement on detroitautoshow.com, social media channels, and displays around the city and at the Detroit Auto Show.

The public also is invited to submit their stories and photos to the My Drive. My City. My Show campaign at detroitautoshow.com. The stories will be shared online and on social media.

In keeping with the Auto Show’s longstanding support for charities, everyone submitting a story to the campaign will be invited to list the name of their favorite charity or cause to help drive awareness for that organization.
