Delta Hotels by Marriott at the Detroit Airport in Romulus is capturing the life of Hollywood star Marilyn Monroe as it debuts the Marilyn’s Lounge and the conversion of its Presidential Suite to Marilyn’s Suite in September.

The new offerings are in keeping with the hotel’s original décor and theme that features several Andy Warhol paintings of Marilyn Monroe in the lobby and throughout the establishment.

The redesigned lounge will feature several of Monroe’s favorite drinks such as the Marilyn Monroe Cocktail — champagne with a dash of apple brandy and grenadine with two cherries on top. Other drinks include Some like It Hot and the Perfect Kiss Martini. Food menu includes the Norma Jeane Salad (Monroe’s original name).

The Marilyn Monroe Suite, meanwhile, will be highlighted with several of her iconic and rare photos.

“When the hotel was completely renovated two years ago, the intention was always to have a Marilyn Monroe theme and the idea of the lounge and the suite made perfect sense” says Fadi Achour, general manager of the hotel.

The lounge also will feature entertainment inspired by the era of the 1950s and 1960s. “Marilyn Monroe is one of the most alluring Hollywood stars of all time and the most iconic sex symbols of our time,” says Laparise Elerson, director of sales and marketing of the hotel. “We feel this lounge and the suite will honor that and we look forward to our guests experiencing it at the Delta Hotel.”

Delta Hotels by Marriott at the Detroit Airport, located at 31500 Wick Road, is owned by RKJ Management in Los Angeles and managed by Real Hospitality Group in Ocean City, Md. The hotel underwent a $12 million complete renovation in 2017, and features 271 rooms and suites.

The hotel offers more than 15,000 square feet of banquet and meeting space as well as two pools, a fitness room, a business center, and the Metropolis restaurant, which serves breakfast and dinner daily. The hotel also provides 24-hour shuttle service to Detroit Metro Airport.
