Dearborn-based Yogurtopia, a self-serve frozen yogurt shop, will open its first franchised locations in Dearborn and Brighton this month.
“We wanted to provide a fun space for the community to get together to delight in a menu of all-natural, healthy options,” says Sam Abbas, founder and president of Yogurtopia.
The Dearborn restaurant, located at 6901 Schaefer Rd., is now open. The Brighton restaurant, at 332 West Main St., will open later this month. The eateries will feature all-natural frozen yogurt and toppings, crepes, coffee, espresso, organic smoothies, and baked goods.
“Every item on the menu is made with whole, healthy ingredients and delivered at an affordable price,” Abbas says. “Our frozen yogurt is packed with 10 times the amount of probiotics found in other frozen yogurts; our smoothies are organic; our coffees are organic and fair-trade.”
Yogurt flavors include angel food cake, maple bacon donut, pumpkin, and toasted marshmallow, among others. Yogurtopia also offers espresso drinks such as macchiatos and lattes, along with pies, cookies, pastries, and cupcakes.
Abbas also operates a Yogurtopia in Gilbert, Ariz., near Phoenix, along with the flagship location in Dearborn, which opened in 2010.
