Cyber Security Summit Set at Oakland University

tMichigan’s top Internet technology leaders will discuss the challenges that colleges, businesses, and governmental agencies are facing regarding cyber security at the Oakland University Cyber Summit on March 7.

t“Our entire electrical infrastructure in this country, all of our economic infrastructure, is online,” says Theresa Rowe, chief information officer at Oakland University in Rochester Hills. “We want to make sure that those things are secure. (At the summit), we’ll be taking about new threats that are emerging, and the impact of those threats.”

tRowe says the event, organized by the student group CyberOU, will cover the importance of cyber infrastructure, preparing for global cyber attacks, and preparation and solutions to address threats. Speakers include Dan Lohrmann, the chief security officer of Michigan; Rodney Davenport, the chief technology officer for the state; and Phil Bertolini, CIO and deputy executive of Oakland County.
