In celebration of the Woodward Dream Cruise, Detroit-based Ally Financial will host an online auction for a 2014 Dodge Challenger Demon SRT8 that’s been customized to pay homage to Detroit’s historical landmarks.
The vehicle features imagery of the Detroit skyline, the Spirit of Detroit statue, classic cars, and street signs, as well as a custom fiberglass hood, stainless fuel rail covers, VN425 wheels with matte black finish spokes, Demon logo decals and a Demon dash panel, and a leather interior with Demon logo embroidery.
Danny Koker, owner of Las Vegas-based Count’s Kustoms shop and star of the History Channel’s Counting Cars series, and his team collaborated with Ally Financial to customize the vehicle, which once belonged to singer Dee Snider of Twisted Sister.
“We think that this car is unique and that everyone who lives in and knows Detroit will recognize the monuments that it portrays and the spirit and passion it reflects,” says Andrea Riley, chief marketing officer at Ally Financial.
The online auction for the vehicle will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday and run until midnight on Aug. 27.
A kickoff party for the auction will be held on Saturday at Ally Financial’s Woodward Dream Cruise booth at Duggan’s Irish Pub, located at 31501 Woodward Ave.
The custom vehicle will be on display during the event, which will also feature opening remarks from Counting Cars cast member Kevin Mack, and a performance by Koker and his band, Count’s 77.
Funds raised through the auction will be donated to Covenant House Michigan to fund the organization’s various programs and services for homeless and at-risk young people.
