Comerica Bank today announced a Women’s Business Symposium featuring keynote speaker and Emmy Award winner Leeza Gibbons, which will take place on April 28 at the Detroit Marriot in Troy from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Gibbon’s address is titled after her new book Fierce Optimism: Seven Secrets for Playing Nice and Winning Big.
Gibbons is known for hosting “Entertainment Tonight” and her award-winning daytime talk show “Leeza,” as well as the PBS show “My Generation,” which won a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Talk Show Host in 2013.
The event will also feature a power panel discussion moderated by Monica L. Martinez, Comerica Bank’s senior vice president of external affairs, which will discuss issues for women in business and leadership positions, including work/life balance, mentoring, breaking the glass ceiling, philanthropy, gender equality, and pay equity.
Panelists will include Florine Mark, president and CEO of The WW Group in Southfield; Jeanette Pierce, founder and executive director of Detroit Experience Factory in Detroit; Lydia Gutierrez, president and CEO of Hacienda Mexican Foods in Detroit; and Tanya R. Allen, president and CEO of ForeverFresh in Detroit.
“The Women’s Business Symposium is a forum for female business owners and entrepreneurs to share their unique perspectives and secrets for success in business and within the community,” says Martinez. “We are providing our customers with thought leadership opportunities in a way that underscores our strong focus on diversity and showcases how we are raising expectations of what a bank can be.”
