Devotees of the Atlanta-based Chick-fil-A fast food chain who live and work in downtown Detroit will be able to access their favorite fare more easily starting this spring.

A Chick-fil-A outlet is being planned for the First National Building at 600 Woodward Ave. adjacent to Campus Martius Park. The news was reported by several media outlets and confirmed by Bedrock Detroit. A May or June opening is scheduled.

The approximately 3,500-square-foot Chick-fil-A location, the second in the city of Detroit, is expected to seat 60 to 70 people.

The other Detroit Chick-fil-A is in the Detroit Medical Center. The chain has close to a dozen restaurants in the metro Detroit area, including the Somerset Collection in Troy.

In the First National Building, Chick-fil-A will join a Shake Shack, Central Kitchen + Bar, and the Roasting Plant coffee shop as food options.
