Chevrolet will debut an enhanced version of the myChevrolet mobile app at the International Consumer Electronics Show to be held next month in Las Vegas. The improved app is combined with OnStar RemoteLink apps.

“The myChevrolet … will support the ownership experience over the life of the vehicle,” says Paul Edwards, vice president of marketing for Chevrolet. “By integrating OnStar RemoteLink features into the myChevrolet app, we’re creating a one-stop-app for owners to manage their vehicle with one user profile and unified log-in.”

Edwards says with the combined app, customers will have mobile access to roadside assistance, parking reminders, owner’s manual content, vehicle diagnostics, Wi-Fi hotspot management, and commands such as remote start and door unlock.

He says OnStar RemoteLink allows OnStar customers to use their smartphone to unlock/lock doors, activate the horn and lights, and start the engine from any distance. Customers can also check vehicle diagnostics such as fuel range, tire pressure, and oil life.

Edwards says beginning next year, my.chevrolet.com will allow customers to manage their OnStar account, along with tracking vehicle service history, scheduling maintenance, and checking vehicle information.

The myChevrolet app will be available on select 2010 and newer Chevrolet vehicles in the United States and Canada.

The International Consumer Electronics Show, a private electronics and technology trade show, will be held Jan. 6-9 at various locations throughout Las Vegas, including the Las Vegas Convention and World Trade Center. Also at the CES Show, Delphi Automotive PLC, with its regional headquarters in Troy, will demonstrate its automated vehicle technologies.
