Chevrolet today announced the addition of a black-out package for regular- and double-cab 2015 Silverado 1500 WT models.

The $1,595 add-on includes 20 inch black painted aluminum wheels, all-season blackwall tires, deep tinted glass, and black bowties.

The package is available for order now, and customers can have any color they want — as long as it’s black, Chevy officials say.

IN OTHER TRUCK NEWS, Ford Motor Co. has released a snowplow add-on for each of the F-150’s cab configurations.

“By using more high-strength steel in its frame and advanced materials in the body, we’ve made the new truck up to 700 pounds lighter,” says Eric Peterson, spokesman for the Ford F-150. “This leads to more capability and better handling, which is exactly what you’d want for plowing.”

When the snowplow mode is activated, the vehicle temporarily turns off nonessential features to provide more plowing power.

This new option, which requires the truck be equipped with a 5.0-liter V-8 engine and four-wheel drive, is available for $50. That is not including the cost of the 450-pound plow.
