Detroit-based driving service DriverOnCall is expanding its market from the greater Lansing area to include metro Detroit, Ann Arbor, and Grand Rapids.

Launched in 2014, the company provides a personal driver to chauffeur clients in their own vehicles. Tailored to seniors, the service is for those who can no longer drive or do not wish to drive due to inclement weather.

“When one’s independence is threatened due to illness or age, it usually affects the entire family,” says Jose Ramirez, chairman of DriverOnCall. “The safety and comfort of our clients and the peace of mind for our clients and their loved ones are our top priorities. The adult children of our clients are as appreciative of the service as our clients.”

The service is offered 24-hours-a-day, seven-day-a-week including holidays. A trip costs $25 an hour with a minimum of one hour per reservation.

Door-to-door assistance is provided, with destinations ranging from medical and vehicle service appointments to recreational activities. Clients are encouraged to make reservations 24 hours in advance.
