Carhartt, located in Dearborn, announced the release of its Heritage Camo collection early Monday morning.

The company’s new collection will include a men’s and women’s T-shirts and sweatshirts, as well as a lightweight jacket for men. It’s designed for hardworking consumers who enjoy engaging in outdoor activities.

Heritage Camo is a variation of Carhartt’s first camouflage pattern, originally used on outerwear and pants in 1972. The new collection came to life after the Carhartt Archive team acquired a vintage camo jacket with the original pattern. From there, the team used an oversize scanner to replicate the pattern by scanning the jacket in sections and stitching the scanned images together. These scans became the base for Carhartt’s product designers to alter the original pattern into today’s limited-edition collection.

“During these uncertain times, we’re seeing people get back to the land and enjoying the outdoors, whether it’s hunting, fishing, camping, or other activities,” says Alex Guerrero, senior vice president, general manager, global product at Carhartt. “So, it felt like the right time to tap into our amazing heritage and reintroduce this iconic camo to our brand enthusiasts.”

Carhartt was founded by Hamilton Carhartt in 1889 and is currently managed by his descendants. The Heritage Camo collection is currently available to shop here.
