Carbon Media Group Builds Portfolio with Acquisition of 36 Websites

Carbon Media Group — the Bingham Farms firm behind more than 500 websites for outdoor, action, and agriculture enthusiasts — has acquired 36 digital properties from San Marcos, Texas-based Group Builder.

The largest website in the acquisition is Homesteading Today, which provides information for creating a lifestyle of self-sufficiency, with topics including agriculture, livestock, country living, and homemaking. The website has nearly 48,000 active participants and reaches more than 750,000 unique visitors each month.

Also included in the transaction are Tractor Forum, Firearms Talk, and Velospace.

Overall, Carbon Group — which also creates digital advertising campaigns for brands including Energizer and John Deere — reaches more than 22 million unique visitors a month, according to Reston, Va.-based ComScore.
