Canine to Five, a company that provides dog daycare and boarding services, has opened a location at 13208 East Jefferson in the Riverbend Plaza on Detroit’s east side. The new space encompasses 8,000 square feet, including five dog play areas, and is the company’s fourth location.

Founded in 2005, the first Canine to Five Detroit is located at 3443 Cass Ave. in Midtown Detroit. Its headquarters is in Ferndale.

“Detroit is where it all started in 2005,” says Liz Blondy, owner of Canine to Five. “It means a lot to me to open another business in the city. Through Canine to Five, I have built such rewarding relationships with so many clients, employees and, of course, DOGS. I am so proud of my team that helped make this happen.”

The opening ceremony took place Aug. 25, and featured Dennis, a mixed breed Boston terrier and pit bull, chewing through a ribbon made of dog biscuits at the ceremony that included local dignitaries, employees, customers, and friends.

Canine to Five Eastside will add 20 new employees to the more than 100 current employees on the Canine to Five team. For those interested in a career at Canine to Five, visit here.
