The Cambria Hotel Shelby Township-Detroit and its restaurant, Verona — Inspired Italian, will host a COVID-delayed grand opening on July 21 with a ribbon cutting ceremony. The hotel, located at 50741 Corporate Dr. in Shelby Township, offers 98 rooms, including three suites, along with upscale amenities and locally inspired design and artwork.
The property’s on-site restaurant, Verona – Inspired Italian, will feature made-from-scratch Italian favorites as well as “fresh twist, craft cocktails.”
The restaurant is led by Chef Salvatore (Sam) Borgia. He says he and his culinary team “strive to deliver cuisine that is fresh and uncomplicated, yet unique and refined and honest, and spirited food and drinks.”
Other hotel features include a spacious lobby, a business center, an indoor heated pool, and a fitness center.
“Due to the pandemic, we weren’t able to properly celebrate the opening of our beautiful hotel and restaurant,” says Joseph Caradonna, president of Koucar Management. “We take a great deal of pride in pairing high-end hospitality with locally inspired design and we are honored to do so once again in metro Detroit.

The Cambria Hotel Shelby Township-Detroit is the first Cambria hotel in southeast Michigan and the second in the state. It is close to Cherry Creek Corporate Park, the Packard Proving Grounds Historic Site, Cherry Creek Golf Course, Jimmy John’s Field, Mae Stecker Park, and the General Motors Technical Center.
