Cadillac, a division of General Motors Co. in Detroit, has teamed up with Los Angeles designer Dominic Ciambrone and his team at Surgeon on an exclusive collection of custom sneakers.

Each style in the collection is directly inspired by a vehicle in Cadillac’s EV portfolio, including the Cadillac LYRIQ, CELESTIQ, OPTIQ, and ESCALADE IQ.

“Cadillac’s design philosophy celebrates transforming the ordinary into the extraordinary, individualizing what is common into something that is distinctively yours,” says Bryan Nesbitt, executive director, Global Cadillac Design.

“Cadillac has the desire to set the standard for American luxury, just as Dominic and his team have set the standard for American craftmanship and bespoke design in the sneaker industry.”

To bring the collection to life, the Surgeon team collaborated with Cadillac designers and artisans in-person at General Motors’ Design Center in Warren. The team drew influence from the unique design detailing of each vehicle.

The sneakers incorporate design elements of the specific vehicles, including interior leathers and upholstery patterning, textiles, and stitching techniques, as well as interior and exterior paint colors and design cues.

“Collaboration and craftsmanship are at the forefront of what we do at Surgeon. With our unique, custom designs, we strive to push boundaries and inspire,” says Ciambrone. “We are excited to team up with Cadillac for a collaboration inspired by their products that have also pushed boundaries with their authentic, American luxury designs.”

As the Official Vehicle of the US Open tennis tournament, taking place in New York Aug. 26 to Sept. 8, Cadillac also collaborated with Surgeon on custom sneakers inspired by the personal story of professional tennis player and Cadillac brand ambassador, Francis Tiafoe.

One pair will be auctioned via CharityBuzz.com to support the USTA Foundation’s Frances Tiafoe Fund, which provides philanthropic support for free or low-cost tennis programming and academic services to more than 130,000 student-athletes annually.

At the 2024 US Open Fan Experience, both the Frances Tiafoe collaboration sneakers and the wider Cadillac collection will be on display in the Cadillac Showroom alongside the vehicles that served as inspiration.

The exclusive collection of custom Cadillac X Surgeon shoes — the ESCALADE IQ, OPTIQ, LYRIQ and CELESTIQ — will all be available for purchase for a limited time only on CadillacSignature.com beginning Sept. 8.  Only five pairs of each EV shoe nameplate (20 total) will be sold.

Pricing will be confirmed closer to the on-sale date. Proceeds from the sales will be donated to the USTA Foundation’s Frances Tiafoe Fund.
