Buick Unveils Re-designed Encore for 2017, Offers More Tech Features

Ahead of its public debut at the New York International Auto Show, Buick introduced the 2017 Encore, featuring a new front-end appearance and additional connectivity features. The vehicle goes on sale in the fall.

“The Buick Encore created the premium small SUV segment and remains the top choice for customers seeking premium features and dependability coupled with timeless design,” says Duncan Aldred, vice president of sales, service, and marketing at Buick.

Aldred says the 2017 Encore has a new winged grille with Buick’s tri-color insignia, new front headlamps, and rear full LED tail lamps. He says other new features include a chrome exhaust outlet, body-color heated outside mirrors, a new 18-inch wheel design, and three additional exterior color options: metallic dark red, metallic black, and metallic white.

Aldred says the interior of the SUV has an updated instrument panel that incorporates a new gauge cluster with a four-inch diagonal color driver information center. The vehicle also has a new center stack that blends with the instrument panel.

The vehicle comes with IntelliLink that is designed to support Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Buick’s connectivity also includes OnStar 4G LTE with a Wi-Fi hotspot.

The 2017 Encore offers room for five and a 1.4-liter turbo engine.

Last week, Buick unveiled its 2017 Enclave Sport Touring Edition — the latest addition to the brand’s design-focused Sport Touring Edition vehicles — featuring a black grille and 20-inch chrome-clad wheels with black accents.
