Bowman Chevrolet has acquired two properties adjacent to its main dealership in Clarkston, adding nearly two acres to its footprint. The additional property, which cost $1.5 million, is located north and south of the dealership.
The land south of the dealership will be used to expand the new vehicle display area, while the north property will be used for a new used car sales center and display area, a larger dedicated internet sales area, and additional office space.
Following the expansion, Bowman Chevrolet’s commercial truck division will move across the street to the current used car location located at 6725 Dixie Highway.
“This expansion exemplifies the strength of the Bowman brand and signifies future growth,” says Katie Bowman Coleman, president and owner of Bowman Auto Group. “Our team is selling an average of 400 vehicles each month, and we’re busting at the seams.
“We’ve had to hired more sales staff and increase inventory to accommodate customers. We needed more room to continue to improve our customer experience, and fortunately these two properties became available.”
Bowman Chevrolet expects renovations will begin in early 2018 and will be working with H & S Contractors Inc. and Hutchinson’s Electric Inc.
Founded in 1984, new car sales at Bowman Chevrolet have almost tripled since 2012, with 2,800 vehicles sold in 2016.
