tDetroit-based Shinola has partnered with French clothing and accessory retailer Colette to bring their American-made products to the European market.

t“Our expansion into Europe brings a positive message of Detroit to a global audience,” says Bridget Russo, Shinola’s marketing director. “We were excited about the response we received from an international audience earlier this year at the BaselWorld trade show in Switzerland, and hope that same sentiment will be shared with consumers overseas, starting with Paris and rolling out to other cities next year.”

tAn assortment of Shinola’s handcrafted products including watches, bicycles, paper journals, and leather goods are now available at the Colette outlet in Paris, located on the right bank near the Louvre and the Tuileries Garden, as well as their online store. Shinola also recently launched a European page on Facebook.

tColette, an international destination for fashion, art, high-tech, and beauty products often features up-and-coming international designers. “Colette in Paris is the epicenter of cool,” Russo says. “We could not have picked a better launch partner and appreciate all the support they have given us in breaking into the European market.”

tAnd Paris is just the beginning. Shinola will be launching an exclusive line at Robinson’s in Singapore later this month and is working with other European retailers, including those in Italy and Benelux, a union of states that includes Belgium, Luxembourg, and The Netherlands.
