Birmingham Bloomfield Credit Union Partners with Metro North Federal Credit Union

Birmingham Bloomfield Credit Union is joining forces with Metro North Federal Credit Union after a July 29 vote by the membership made it official. The partnership will go into effect Aug. 1.

Birmingham Bloomfield Credit Union is joining forces with Metro North Federal Credit Union after a July 29 vote by the membership made it official. The partnership will go into effect Aug. 1.

The combined organization includes more than 7,500 members, additional branches in Waterford Township and Holly, and an increase of assets to nearly $120 million.

The expansion will provide members s a wider range of financial products and services including a mobile app, remote deposit capture, reduced fees, an improved bill pay system, and a dedicated mortgage representative.

“We are confident this collaboration will be mutually beneficial,” says Andrew Staley, president and CEO of Birmingham Bloomfield Credit Union. “We will be delighted to welcome Metro North Federal Credit Union members and staff to the Birmingham Bloomfield Credit Union team.”

Birmingham Bloomfield Credit Union also has applied was approved to expand its field of membership. The credit union was recently granted approval to serve anyone who lives, works, worships, attends school, or owns businesses and other legal entities in the state of Michigan.

“The ability to serve all of Michigan has been part of our board of directors’ and leadership team’s long-term strategy, and we are thrilled to have reached this milestone,” says Richard Perry, chairman of the Birmingham Bloomfield Credit Union board of directors.
