Center Line-based Binson’s Home Health Care Supplies will provide home medical care equipment, supplies, and services to Medicare beneficiaries of the Accountable Care Organization Ltd. in an effort to improve care and cut costs for patients.
“Our role as an alliance partner is important to ensure Medicare beneficiaries attributed to the (Accountable Care Organization) receive timely, high quality, and appropriate products and services best meeting each patient’s medical needs as directed and prescribed by their doctor,” says Ken Fasse, Binson’s executive vice president and COO.
The Accountable Care Organization Ltd. — aligned with major medical centers including William Beaumont Hospital System in Royal Oak, Detroit Medical Center, St. John/Providence Health System, and McLaren Health System — was established earlier this year by physicians in southeast Michigan seeking to participate in the Shared Savings Program through the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
The national program facilitates coordination and cooperation among providers to improve the quality of care for Medicare fee-for-service beneficiaries and reduce unnecessary costs. It also rewards programs that reduce health care costs while meeting performance standards on quality of care and putting patients first.
Binson’s partnership will support The Accountable Care Organization’s goal of providing high quality medical care for its Medicare beneficiaries, while simultaneously improving patient satisfaction and cost efficiency, says James Binson, president of the company known legally as Binson’s Hospital Supplies Inc.
