The Michigan division of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices, a national real estate services company, has acquired Tomie Raines Inc., an East Lansing-based real estate firm. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

“(The) Tomie Raines brand is wonderfully established in greater Lansing area with nearly 40 years of … service in the market,” says Steve Fase, owner of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Michigan Real Estate.

Fase says Tomie Raines’ owners Debbie Barnett and Lane Barnett will continue leading the company, which now operates as Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Tomie Raines Realtors.

“Our … local company just joined a regional powerhouse brokerage family, and a Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices brand known nationally for trust, integrity, and service,” Debbie Barnett says.

Barnett says Tomie Raines will gain access to Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices’ global network platform, which includes online tools, applications, and services, along with professional education, national marketing support, and a program for high-end and resort listings. Resources include lead generation and a social media platform, along with a mobile and video-production app.

Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Michigan Real Estate has offices across the state, in Clarkston, Grand Rapids, Harbor Springs, Plymouth Township, and Traverse City. California-based Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices has more than 42,000 agents in 1,200 offices across 47 states.
