Benton Harbor-based KitchenAid today announced a new look for the kitchen, the Artisan Black Tie Limited Edition 5-Quart Stand Mixer. The appliance is the company’s first monochromatic version, and features cast iron-like textured finishes and premium materials, including die cast zinc, satin, and black chrome.
The limited-edition model, which consists of 500 units, is available exclusively for purchase at KitchenAid.com, and includes an individual number on a custom trim band, and a commemorative card authenticated by KitchenAid executives John McConnell and Ken Hossier.
“The Artisan Black Tie’s classic design and bold, all-black finish represents a modern and sophisticated take on the classic Stand Mixer,” says McConnell, senior design manager for KitchenAid’s small appliances. “Like the little black dress, or classic tuxedo, the new mixer is a timeless collector’s item that will never go out of style.”
The new model also includes a five-quart stainless steel bowl, a black coated beater and dough hook, and maintains the same quality standards as previous models.
“KitchenAid has always been known as a pioneer in bringing bright pops of color into the kitchen (85 total colors and finishes),” adds McConnell, “During the past two years, we’ve successfully expanded both our small and major appliance offerings to include a variety of new satin and matte finishes.”
The Artisan Black Limited Edition Stand Mixer is available now and retails for $999.99. Since introducing their first stand mixer in 1919, KitchenAid has expanded their line of products to include other countertop appliances, cookware, ranges, refrigerators, and more. It debuted the first dishwasher in 1949.
