Benton Harbor-based KitchenAid is expanding its lineup of appliances available in a black stainless steel finish to include existing dishwasher models, under counter wine cellars, beverage centers, refrigeration units, and icemakers.

“We’ve received positive feedback on our black stainless finish, from its adaptability to various kitchen designs to its ability to reduce the appearance of fingerprints,” says Beth Robinson, senior brand experience manager for KitchenAid.

Launched in 2015, the original line of built-in appliances available in black stainless steel included four refrigerator models, single and double wall ovens, multiple hood ventilation options, a microwave, and a dishwasher.

Appliances in the collection also feature a KitchenAid brand medallion; handles etched with a crosshatched pattern; chrome inlaid frames to accent the transition between glass and other surfaces; and capping on the bar handles found on refrigerators, wall ovens, and dishwashers.

All models are currently available at select retailers nationwide.

In addition, KitchenAid recently unveiled a new, mini stand mixer, which is 20 percent smaller and 25 percent lighter than standard mixers. The company reported net sales of $20.9 billion in 2015.
