Benton Harbor’s Maytag has released Cast Iron Black, its newest kitchen appliance finish. The finely textured matte finish is designed to stand up to daily wear and tear, resisting scratches and helping hide fingerprints and minor dents. The new line underwent 1,000 hours of testing.

“Our new Cast Iron Black finish is as tough as it is timeless,” says Allison Gillespie, senior brand manager at Maytag. “It gives your kitchen a sleek and powerful look, while keeping your perishables cold, your dishes clean, and your dinner hot.”

A recent trend in adding bold pops of color to kitchens, including colorful cabinets, mixed textures, and unique backsplashes or accessories, has added to the longstanding white cabinetry design aesthetic.

The Cast Iron Black finish is now available on select Maytag microwaves and dishwashers, as well as a range and a refrigerator.

Maytag has been in business for more than 100 years.
