Beaumont Health plans to break ground later this year for a new comprehensive outpatient care campus in Lenox Township in Macomb County, with completion next year. It is in the process of purchasing the property. The purchase price was not disclosed.

The 105,000- to 120,000-square-foot facility will be located at the intersection of I-94 and 26 Mile Road, within the Bay River Marketplace and adjacent to Meijer.

“We selected the site because of its convenient location close to major thoroughfares in a growing and thriving community,” says John Fox, CEO of Beaumont Health.

The campus will offer Beaumont Health-affiliated primary and specialty care physicians, emergency care, imaging, outpatient surgery, cancer services, physical therapy, and other services.

“This leading-edge campus will be designed with the consumer experience at the forefront. Medical appointments will not look or feel like traditional health care visits,” Fox says.

He says patients will have access to the Beaumont network and will be able to schedule appointments online, and test results also will be accessible to patients and care providers through an online portal. There also will be streamlined billing.

“The campus will allow our team of experts to share knowledge with each other and collaborate with patients and their families for care that works best for them,” says Dr. David Wood, chief medical officer for Beaumont.

Beaumont partnered with NexCore Group, a national health care real estate developer, to build the campus. It will handle financing, development, leasing, property management, and asset management. Independent physicians and groups also will be able to open offices at the site.

The location of a similar project in Wayne County that also is slated to open in 2020 and will be announced soon.

Beaumont has eight hospitals and 145 outpatient sites. The nonprofit has a total net revenue of $4.7 billion.
