Freedom Motors in Battle Creek, a manufacturer of wheelchair-accessible vehicles, Friday announced the arrival of its new truck and full-size SUV line. The vehicles are available now.

Customization options include 4WD or 2WD, as well as driver- or passenger-side entry conversions. Each truck and SUV comes equipped with Freedom Motors’ state-of-the-art hydraulic lift system.

“As with every Freedom Motors product, we want to offer the most innovative wheelchair accessible vehicles available on the market today,” says Sieto van Dillen, president of Freedom Motors USA. “We’ve not only given this new truck and SUV line improved rugged durability, we’ve also shortened the time it takes to enter or exit the vehicle by reducing the time to deploy the lift system to less than 15 seconds – all in less space needed when compared to most accessible minivans.”

The trucks offer a five-passenger capacity and SUVs offer up to a seven-passenger capacity. Both have enough cabin room for all passengers to feel comfortable. The lift has a 750-pound capacity, and full-sized trucks and SUVs have the option to install a towing package. The industrial-grade hydraulic system is designed to withstand extreme temperatures and is built with a stainless-steel floor and side skirt.

Freedom Motors is accepting orders on select models for the wheelchair-accessible Chevrolet Silverado, Chevrolet Suburban, Cadillac Escalade, and GMC Sierra. The company has been making wheelchair-accessible vehicles since 1987 and offers models including Kia Soul, Kia Sorento, Fiat 500L, and a full line of accessible minivans from Dodge, Chrysler, and Toyota.
