Baker Tilly, a large accounting and advisory firm that has its Michigan operation in Southfield, Thursday announced it will combine with an independent accounting firm based in California.
Chicago’s Baker Tilly US will combine with Squar Milner, effective Nov. 1. The name of the combined firm will be Baker Tilly US.

Squar Milner has eight California locations.

The new Baker Tilly will have a presence in New York, London, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago, and more. Baker Tilly US is the largest member of the international Baker Tilly network, the world’s 10th largest global network of independent accounting and business services firms. Combined, with the new combination, Baker Tilly will have 4,300 professionals.
In the past two years, Baker Tilly expanded into Texas and made acquisitions in data analytics, municipal advisory, global forensic accounting, valuation and litigation services, and outsourced accounting.
Baker Tilly has a network of independent accounting and business advisory firms in 146 territories with 36,000 professionals across North and South America, Europe, Asia, and Australia. The combined worldwide revenue of independent member firms is $3.9 billion.
Squar Milner is one of the largest independent accounting and advisory firms in California and the western U.S.
