The Kingsley, formerly known as Doubletree By Hilton Bloomfield Hills Detroit, celebrated going back to its original roots after a commemorative event on Nov. 16, welcoming more than 150 attendees.
Originally named The Kingston Inn from 1927-1938, the rebranding marked a major milestone for the property and the hospitality industry in the Michigan area. Last year, the hotel was added to Virginia-based Crescent Hotels and Resorts’ suite of properties.
The event welcomed guests with live entertainment, special fare, and a tour of the redesigned property and its food and beverage offerings: Zalman’s on Woodward, an all-day modern diner with locally sourced fresh ingredients, and The Duke Lounge, serving craft cocktails and light bites.
“We are thrilled to welcome back The Kingsley and celebrate its rich history and heritage with newly-reimagined concepts and one-of-a-kind amenities,” says Thomas Lamb, general manager of The Kingsley. “It was a pleasure to bring our community together to commemorate the occasion with us.”
The 144-room hotel, located at 39475 Woodward Ave., underwent a multi-million-dollar renovation in 2018. The Kingsley offers an indoor saltwater pool, a 24-hour fitness center, a courtyard, and more than 12,000 square feet of flexible event space for up to 400 guests with on-site catering available.
The hotel was transformed with several additions, including a two-story atrium lobby, a new business center, luxury suites, a plush lounge with custom stone materials, and the addition of the on-site restaurant Joe Muer Seafood, part of Andiamo Restaurant Group in Warren.
Each of the contemporary style guest rooms include a spacious sitting area, plush bedding, and high speed internet access. The redevelopment was overseen by Jonna Construction Co. in Bloomfield Hills.
