Novi-based acoustical consultant Autoneum today announced the opening of its new North American headquarters in Novi. The new Autoneum facility brings together research and development activities in the North American market with the management of the region’s business group.
“Our new technical center … sets the stage to better meet regional customer and market requirements,” says John Lenga, Autoneum’s head of business group, North America. “This facility enables us to further extend our innovation leadership in a profitable way.”
The technical center features laboratories and an expanded development space that gives Autoneum capabilities for simulation and testing of components, production lines, and processes. The 84,000-square foot facility’s environment is designed to promote innovation and collaboration among 175 employees.
“Over 45 percent of our Group’s net sales are generated by Business Group North America in the USA, Canada, and Mexico,” says Martin Hirzel, CEO of Autoneum. “Given the importance of this market, we have invested over 270 million Swiss francs in development and expansion of our North American development and production capacities since … 2011.”
Autoneum develops and manufactures components, modules, and complete systems for interior and engine bay as well as heatshields and underbody shields.
Customers include automobile producers in North America, Europe, South America, and Asia. The company operates around 50 locations in more than 20 countries, and employs more than 11,000 people worldwide.
