The Automotive Hall of Fame in Dearborn will award five Industry Influencer awards during its annual event to take place July 21 at The Icon in Detroit.
The Industry Influencer Award recognizes individuals who are influencing and leading through their actions, innovations, and visible positions on issues pertinent to the automotive industry and its future.
“We are thrilled to recognize the contributions these outstanding individuals have made to today’s automotive industry,” says Sarah Cook, president of the Automotive Hall of Fame. “This year’s Industry Influencer awardees are leading their respective fields into the next generation of mobility and we look forward to celebrating their successes not only at our July event, but all year long.”
The is year’s honorees are:
Shilpan A. Amin, General Motors senior vice president and president General Motors International
Amin currently leads GM International, which consists of GM’s global operations outside of North America and China, including South America, the Middle East, Africa, Korea, Europe, Japan, Australia, New Zealand and Israel and central Asia – a position he has held since April 2022. Prior to this appointment, Amin served as vice president, global purchasing and supply chain. In this position, he successfully led GM’s strategic response to the global supply chain shortage brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic, leading development of industry-wide solutions around government engagement, COVID safety protocols and communications. He has been with General Motors since 1996, and has held various leadership roles within GM’s Vehicle Engineering and Global Purchasing and Supply Chain organizations.
Randy Parker, senior vice president, national sales, Hyundai Motor America
Parker was appointed vice president, national sales in 2019 and promoted to senior vice president, national sales in 2021. He is responsible for all aspects of sales and distribution of Hyundai vehicles in the U.S., including sales strategies, fleet and certified pre-owned operations, dealer relations, market representation, and other related activities with the mission to grow Hyundai sales and market share. He also oversees Hyundai’s seven sales regions. He is an industry veteran with more than three decades of automotive industry experience and leadership roles at both Nissan and General Motors prior to joining Hyundai Motor America.
Sherry House, CFO, Lucid Motors
House joined Lucid Motors as chief financial officer in May 2021. At Lucid, House is responsible for all financial operations, including championing the transition to a publicly traded company in July 2021. Prior to Lucid, she served in several capacities at Waymo LLC, most recently as Treasurer and Head of Investor Relations. She has more than two decades of experience with automotive OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, and mobility companies, as well as several years in the capital markets industry as a technology investor, investment banker and financial operating executive. She possesses a deep understanding of financial operations for both Fortune 500 and emerging companies and how to improve upon them, based on her experience at Waymo and at private equity firms.
Ann Wilson, senior vice president of government affairs, MEMA (Motor and Equipment Manufacturers Association)
Wilson is the senior vice president of government affairs of the Motor and Equipment Manufacturers Association (MEMA) in Washington, D.C, and has been part of the association since June 2004. Wilson works with the association’s Washington office staff in overseeing federal and state legislative and regulatory monitoring, reporting and advocacy. She develops and promotes association members’ views on legislation and regulations affecting the motor vehicle supplier industry. She acts as the chief lobbyist for motor vehicle suppliers and MEMA’s four market segment associations including AASA, HDMA, MERA, and OESA.
Linda Zhang, F-150 Lightning chief engineer, Ford Motor Co.
Zhang is responsible for leading the team behind the development of the F-150 Lightning, Ford’s first electric F-150 pickup. Zhang assumed this role in September 2018 when development began. She has been with Ford for 26 years and joined the company after graduating with a degree in electrical engineering from the University of Michigan. She has held several positions across the Ford organization, including manufacturing, product development, finance, and corporate strategy. Zhang was featured on the cover of Time magazine in November 2021, representing the team electrifying the world’s most popular truck.
Founded in 1939, the Automotive Hall of Fame has honored 762 individuals from around the world who have been impactful and important to the automotive and mobility industries. The Automotive Hall of Fame is located at 21400 Oakwood Blvd in Dearborn, Michigan and is open to the public for tours.
