Fiat of Auburn Hills-based Fiat Chrysler Automobiles has unveiled its 2020 Fiat 500X Sport model for the North American market. It offers customized features on top of an advanced, fuel-efficient turbocharged engine.

“Our Italian-designed, fun-to-drive Fiat 500X is the only vehicle in its class to feature standard all-wheel drive and achieve 30 miles per gallon,” says Tim Kuniskis, head of passenger car brands – Dodge, SRT, Chrysler, and Fiat – North America. “With standard turbo power, the Fiat 500X Sport is a fresh, new alternative in one of the fastest growing segments in the industry.”

The car offers new front and rear fascia designs and body-color painted side-moldings with a “Sport” badge on the front fender. Available LED lighting systems provide enhanced visibility and include headlights and fog lamps. There are also dark-finish exterior accents, new 18-inch aluminum wheels or available all-new 19-inch premium aluminum wheels with Michelin CrossClimate all-season tires, and chrome dual-exhaust tips.

Colors include the new “Rovente Red,” as well as white, black, grey, and blue. A black roof option is also available.

Designed and manufactured in Italy, the 500X Sport features an advanced standard-equipped 1.3-liter turbocharged engine with the latest iteration of the FCA exclusive MultiAir valve-actuation technology, engine stop-start technology, and 210 lb.-ft. of torque. Also standard are a nine-speed automatic transmission and a standard all-wheel drive system with an automatic disconnecting rear axle that contributes to improved fuel economy of up to three miles per gallon compared to the previous engine.

The 500X Sport offers more than 70 available safety and security features, including adaptive cruise control, which automatically reduces the set speed when the vehicle is approaching another vehicle or when another vehicle moves into the same lane. The driver sets a distance that the car maintains from vehicles ahead. It also offers front park assist, when sensors in the bumper detect stationary objects.

Other safety features include blind-spot monitoring, rear cross path detection, a rear backup camera, ESC with electronic roll mitigation, and seven standard air bags.

Finally, the vehicle includes the latest generation Uconnect 4 with a 7-inch touchscreen display infotainment system.

The manufacturer’s suggested retail price, excluding destination, is $26,895. The Fiat 500X Sport is expected to be available in the first quarter of 2020 in Fiat studios and select Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram, and Fiat stores.
