Burke Porter Group (BPG) in Ada, Mich. (east of Grand Rapids), a global supplier of intelligent testing instrumentation and assembly systems and solutions, today announced the acquisition of Auburn Hills’ WinterPark Engineering, a provider of engineering services for global emissions and regulatory applications. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
WinterPark specializes in the engineering and regulatory management of emission and on-board diagnostics development and testing. The company serves customers in the automotive, heavy duty, industrial, marine, government, and defense industries.
The acquisition provides expanded technology complementary to BPG’s emissions testing instruments.
“WinterPark’s subject matter expertise with on-board diagnostics and extensive industry knowledge blend well with our testing instrumentation and BPG’s long-term growth goals,” says David DeBoer, CEO of BPG. “This acquisition expands our services offering in diagnostic testing and emissions controls, supporting a growing base of customers dealing with complex regulatory compliance requirements.”
The agreement provides for existing management continuity over WinterPark’s business activities with no change in day-to-day business or contact. Mark Frank will remain president of WinterPark.
The two companies have more than 75 years of combined automotive industry experience and have completed projects for FCA, Nissan, and Hyundai.
