Luxury furniture retailer Scott Shuptrine Interiors will open its newest storefront in Grosse Pointe on Friday, and plans to add locations in Shelby Township, Taylor, and Toledo later this year.

“There is a growing demand for high-end home furnishings, and we have been encouraged by customers to bring our exclusive luxury brands and personalized shopping experience to more communities like Grosse Pointe,” says Jeanette McNamara, director of Warren-based Scott Shuptrine Interiors.

The 7,700 square foot store in Grosse Pointe, located at 17145 Kercheval St., will feature a variety of merchandise with new items arriving monthly, an interior design team, children’s furnishings, and mattresses. The store will also host free monthly design classes with special appearances by celebrity designers.

“The Grosse Pointe gallery will feature a luxurious selection of the finest furniture, décor, and art, which can easily be customized to fit the needs and tastes of each individual …” McNamara says.

Scott Shuptrine Interiors, founded in 1927 as Scott-Shuptrine, has stores in Royal Oak, Novi, Grand Rapids, and Petoskey. The retailer is a division of Art Van Furniture Inc. in Warren, which purchased Scott Shuptrine in 1987. The retailer sells brands such as Bernhardt, Theodore Alexander, Vanguard, and Ralph Lauren, among others.
