Coalition on Temporary Shelter Soup City: A Night at the Gallery
On Jan. 25, the Coalition on Temporary Shelter in Detroit hosted its 19th annual Soup City: A Night at the Gallery at the Gem Theatre and the Century Theatre in downtown Detroit. More than 200 people enjoyed a selection of soups and chilis, a display of artwork, and live entertainment.
Detroit Latinos Reception for DIA Director Salvador Salort-Pons
On Jan. 24, Detroit Latinos hosted a reception for Salvador Salort-Pons, director of the Detroit Institute of Arts, at a private room above Armando’s Mexican Restaurant in Detroit’s Mexicantown district. More than 75 people enjoyed a cocktail reception, a buffet, and remarks from Salort-Pons about the importance of Latino art at the DIA and throughout metro Detroit.
