9Round, a kickboxing fitness franchise, today announced the opening of a gym located at 6043 Rochester Rd. in Troy. Owned and operated by local franchisee Guy Shaham, 9Round was founded by professional kickboxer Shannon Hudson and allows members to train on demand during 30 minute sessions that burn up to 500 calories.
“9Round makes sense for two reasons: results and convenience,” says Shaham, who also operates a location in Birmingham. “9Round’s model allows people to reach their fitness goals and see results in a fun and convenient way. With 9Round, people can fit the workouts into their busy schedule, and start seeing results by accomplishing just three 9Round workouts a week.”
Each 9Round workout includes an on-site trainer to motivate participants through a circuit of nine stations, each lasting three minutes. Stations include cardio, weight training, abdominal exercises, and traditional boxing moves on upper cut speed bags. Full body workouts are changed daily to keep members physically and mentally engaged.
“Kickboxing is a great full-body exercise that incorporates aerobic, an-aerobic and strength conditioning into one routine,” adds Shaham. “It’s also a lot of fun to hit the bags. It keeps you moving and there’s so many different exercises that can be incorporated into a kickboxing workout. It also gives people a stronger sense of self-confidence.”
The first 25 people to sign up at 9Round’s Troy location will receive a pair of 9Round Championship boxing gloves and wrist wraps. Registration and pricing information can be found here.
