In September, the first floor of Bedrock’s Lofts at Merchant Row building in downtown Detroit will offer a new 6 Salon. The salon also has locations in downtown Royal Oak and Birmingham.
Located at 1441 Woodward Ave., 6 Salon will offer a full-service operation with 18 cutting chairs, two manicuring stations, two pedicuring stations, two makeup stations, and offer barbering and hot shaves. The salon will employ 35-40 people.
Owners George Nikollaj, Johnny Nikollaj, and Tomy Lulgjuraj contracted M1/DTW to design the 3,900-square-foot space. The company designed the other two 6 Salon locations as well as the owners’ other brand, DyNFly in Canton Township and Troy.
“We’ve known many of the folks at Bedrock who have been clients of 6 Salon for years, and they would express their interest in having the 6 Salon brand and energy downtown to us,” says George Nikollaj.
“When I’m out of town and talk about our business, I usually say our salons are in Detroit, understanding that people may not be familiar with Royal Oak or Birmingham and its proximity to the city…. I’m excited to be able to say that we’re in Detroit proper now. I’m downtown quite often frequenting restaurants, concerts, sporting events, and have witnessed the rapid development and energy and just know that we want to be a part of it.”
