6 Companies Open Offices in Downtown Detroit, Add 200 Jobs

Bedrock Real Estate Services today announced six new tenants — representing industries including construction contracting, parking management, insurance and risk management, consulting, and accounting — have moved into offices on Woodward Avenue and on Broadway Street in downtown Detroit.

Collectively, the new tenants are adding 200-plus workers to the central business district.

“Companies of all sizes representing many different sectors clearly see the advantages and great benefits of locating in Detroit’s dynamic urban core,” says Dan Mullen, vice president of leasing and development with Bedrock Real Estate Services, which manages several buildings in the city. “Downtown Detroit has become a collaborative environment, with an energy and entrepreneurial spirit that cannot be found anywhere else.”

Of the new tenants, both Dixon Masonry and insurance provider Colburn and Colburn have set up shop at the First National Building, at 660 Woodward. JFM Consulting Group and Great Lakes Architectural Products Group have moved into 1301 Broadway, and Siegfried Group has opened an office in the One Woodward building.

Likewise, Ultimate Parking Management, which manages more than 13,000 parking spaces within the city’s central business district, is now located within suite 1150 of the 1001 Woodward Building.

“I have never seen the city so vibrant and positive about its future,” says Pete Brewis, president of Ultimate Parking Management, which has 60 employees.

Among the tenants are:

Dixon Masonry is a union construction contractor with more than 90 team members providing the community with commercial masonry and restoration services since 1999.

Colburn & Colburn is an insurance and risk management provider offering expertise and a wide variety of products and services from personal insurance to life insurance, disability, long-term care, and more.

Ultimate Parking Management manages some of the city’s largest and most centrally located parking garages including the Compuware Garage and The Z.

Siegfried is on a mission to make accounting more fun and productive, Siegfried Group helps clients strategically extend and enhance their internal workforce by providing accounting resource services.

JFM Consulting Group focuses on strategy, planning, research, evaluation, and works in partnership with the nonprofit, philanthropic, and public sectors to create positive and sustainable community change.
