The discount clothing store Stein Mart, HomeGoods, and Sierra Trading Post, which offers outdoor apparel, will open in a shopping center this fall at the site of a former Kmart store at the Maple Village shopping center in Ann Arbor this year.

“With such high-profile retailers representing three strong consumer markets — fashion, home, and active outdoor gear — we believe this strategic repositioning of the Kmart space benefits Maple Village’s customers and existing tenants,” says Devin Mitchell, vice president of leasing for the north region of Brixmor Property Group, the owner and operator of Maple Village.

Mitchell says the three stores will occupy more than 76,000 square feet of renovated space, once used for the Kmart store, located at North Maple and Jackson roads.

Stein Mart, offering discount fashion for women and men, accessories, home décor, linens, and shoes, will occupy more than 33,500 square feet of space. Mitchell says the next closest Stein Mart is in Rochester Hills.

The opening of the Sierra Trading Post in Ann Arbor will mark the store’s first location in Michigan. It will occupy more than 22,000 square feet of space, and offer outdoor apparel, footwear, and fitness gear.

The discount home furnishings and accessories store HomeGoods will be located in the remaining 20,000 square feet of space.

The stores are scheduled to begin opening in the third quarter of this year.

Maple Village is also home to Plum Market, Dunham’s Sports, Pure Sleep, Hand & Stone Massage, and Great Clips.
