The Detroit Auto Show leadership today revealed the lineup for the September event, which includes more auto brands, a new EV experience indoor track, street course ride-and-drives, and a mobility global forum.

Media Day at Huntington Place in downtown Detroit will take place on Wednesday, Sept. 13, followed by Technology Days/AutoMobili-D, and the mobility global forums on both Wednesday and Thursday. The Charity Preview is slated for Friday, Sept. 15.

The show will be open to the public from Saturday, Sept. 16 through Sunday, Sept. 24.

“The very nature of how people get from Point A to Point B is changing in ways more profound than at any time since the dawn of the Auto Industry,” says Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan. “This year’s Auto Show will reflect this shift and make it clear to the world Detroit continues to be at the forefront of mobility innovation.”

Show officials says the 2023 event has garnered support from Ford Motor Co., General Motors Co., and Stellantis, with all three committed to participating with their full brand portfolio. Multiple vehicle debuts also have been confirmed for the show, and there will be increased representation from several other brands.

The show will feature an EV experience indoor track, sponsored by the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 58 and the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA). Show-goers can sit alongside a professional driver and drive through a serpentine track that includes an acceleration lane stretching more than 300 feet.

In addition to speeches from auto industry leaders and experts, mobility global forums will be conducted on the main show floor and also will include fireside chats and themed panels hosted by automotive journalists.

For the sixth year, the Michigan Economic Development Corp., in association with Michigan’s Office of Future Mobility and Electrification, will provide funding to highlight dozens of tech companies and startups as part of the AutoMobili-D technology showcase.
