The fast-casual pizza chain 1000 Degrees Neapolitan Pizza will open its first restaurant in Michigan on Thursday near Macomb Mall in Roseville.

"We saw Detroit as a relatively untapped market for authentic Neapolitan-style pizza," says Rudy Sawa, a franchise partner at Capital Pizza Ventures who will operate the restaurant.

The new restaurant, to be located at 32427 Gratiot Ave., serves personalized, made-to-order pizzas created with Neapolitan pizza dough, which consists of wheat flour. The pizzas are available in both a personal 10-inch slice and sharable 14-inch sizes.

Sawa says 1000 Degrees Neapolitan Pizza offers a combination of 50 cheeses, sauces, meats, and vegetables at one flat price. The restaurant also has 12 varieties of specialty pizzas, including a barbeque bourbon chicken pizza and a cheese steak pizza topped with sliced rib-eye and caramelized onions.

Sawa says Capital Pizza Ventures plans to develop up to three additional restaurants in Michigan, and an additional three in Arizona over the next year.

1000 Degrees Neapolitan Pizza has 80 restaurants across the United States, and will open its first international restaurant in Malaysia by the end of next year.

The first 10 guests that walk through the doors of the 1000 Degrees Neapolitan Pizza in Roseville will win free pizza for a year.
