New Owners Acquire PINK PUMP, Plan New Stores in Birmigham, Detroit's Midtown District

Kelly and Vincent Kirkwood, an Oakland County couple have purchased the intellectual property rights for the PINK PUMP, a clothing and asscessory store, with locations in Ann Arbor and Royal Oak that are now closed. The couple will open a storefront in Birmingham, and has plans to open a second storefront in Detroit's Midtown district.

The Kirkwoods say the first storefront they'll open will be in downtown Birmingham in the fall, although they haven't announced the exact location. The new PinkPump.com website will launch in June.

PINK PUMP closed its doors in Bloomfield Hills, Birmingham, Royal Oak, and Ann Arbor in December of 2014 and its sister stores P2 by Pink Pump with locations in Troy, West Bloomfield, and Royal Oak closed in October of 2014.

The PINK PUMP stores sold clothing, accessories, and footwear and brands such as Ugg, Hunter, Jessica Simpson, Steve Madden, and L.A.M.B.

Tawny Thieu-Walker, the former co-owner of the brand, will stay on as a consultant.
