On July 17, more than 200 boats set sail from Port Huron to Mackinac Island for the 86th running of a Michigan classic, hosted by Pure Michigan and the Bayview Yacht Club in Detroit. The event was part of the Blue Water Fest, where thousands of fans were treated to entertainment, food, and tours of some of the boats lining the Black River and St. Clair River.
On July 19, sportscaster George Blaha hosted the High Hopes Golf Invitational at Forest Lake Country Club in Bloomfield Township. The event, which included 18 holes of golf and a tribute dinner, benefited Vista Maria, a nonprofit in Dearborn Heights that offers victimized girls and women treatment programs.

Race fans were treated to multiple boat races on the Detroit River July 9-11, including the Detroit APBA Gold Cup Race. Thousands of fans witnessed the victory by Dave Villwock and his crew in the 101st running of the race on July 11. Villwock powered his U-96 Spirit of Qatar during the five-lap finals.
Southwest Detroit's Cristo Rey High School held a garden party at a private residence in Bloomfield Hills on July 18. The event helped raise funds and awareness for Cristo Rey, which provides a Catholic, co-ed college preparatory education to under served students.
The Bayview Yacht Club in Detroit hosted a press conference on June 22 to announce Pure Michigan as the title sponsor of the annual Port Huron to Mackinac Regatta, which set sail on July 17. The race draws sailors and fans from 20 states and numerous countries, creating an economic impact of $60 million.
The second annual Kronk Gym Foundation fundraiser was held on June 30 at the MotorCity Casino in Detroit. The evening included a sit down dinner, a silent and live auction, and an amateur boxing exhibition inside MotorCity Casino's Sound Board.
The Detroit Golf Club hosted the 2010 Macomb Golf Classic on June 28, a benefit for Henry Ford Macomb Hospitals. The all-day affair included a continental breakfast, a skills clinic, 18 holes of golf, cocktail reception, and dinner program.
More than 2,000 people attended Sunset at the Zoo at the Detroit Zoo on June 18, which helped raise renovation funds for the Detroit Zoo's Lion Habitat. The 2010 event, called "King of the Jungle," included a strolling supper and dessert reception, live entertainment, and a live auction.
