The Parade Co., which hosts the America's Thanksgiving Parade, held its 10th annual Distinguished Grand Jester's Reception on Sept. 22 at The Reserve at the Big Rock Chophouse in Birmingham. More than 200 people attended the event.

The McLaren Macomb Hospital in Mount Clemens served as the Meijer Cruise Headquarters on Aug. 14 during the Clinton Township Gratiot Cruise. The event featured food vendors, official cruise merchandise, entertainment, and a live broadcast.

The Briggs Houze, a new 17-story, 118 residential apartment and commercial building near Grand Circus Park in downtown Detroit, hosted a block party on Sept. 8. More than 200 people attended the event for the building, which was built in the 1920s and previously operated as the Hotel Briggs.

Go Red Talks, an event focused on heart health that features national and local speakers, held a VIP cocktail reception on Sept. 8 at Selden Standard in Detroit. The American Heart Association hosted the reception.

Law firm Foster Swift held an open house for its new Southfield office on Sept. 13. Proceeds from the event benefited the Alzheimer's Association, Capuchin Soup Kitchen, and the Detroit Zoological Society.

The Annual Life Directions Golf Event took place Sept. 12 at the Western Golf and Country Club in Redford Township. The outing, which benefited Life Directions, featured a gourmet dinner, a live auction, and refreshments.
