The inaugural R.A.N. Family of Services "Chip in for Charity" golf tournament was held on Sept. 10 at St. John's Golf Course in Plymouth Township. Supporting numerous charities via Internet support and fundraising services, the event included a silent auction, dinner, and awards ceremony.
On August 26, Saks Fifth Avenue at the Somerset Collection in Troy along with the Detroit Institute of Arts Founders Junior Council presented Fash Bash. The event, which drew more than 400 people, included a strolling cocktail party inside Saks Fifth Avenue, an outdoor fashion show, and an afterglow.

Zazios, a new restaurant in downtown Birmingham's Greenleaf Trust building, held a series of opening parties in July. The restaurant, which features northern Italian cuisine, offers a chef's table, Z Lounge, private dining options, and special events.
The Detroit Sports Broadcasters Association held its 24th annual DSBA Charity Golf Scramble on July 12 at Cherry Creek Golf Club in Shelby Township. The event included the presentation of the Ty Tyson Award for Excellence in Sports Broadcasting to Frank Beckmann, voice of News/Talk 760 WJR and University of Michigan football.
The 2010 Detroit International Jazz Festival, to be held over Labor Day weekend in downtown Detroit, hosted the Detroit Jazz Fest Cruise on Aug. 19 on the Detroit River. Setting sail on the Ovation Yacht, guests were treated to a strolling supper, cocktails, and live jazz by Mack Avenue recording artist Hot Club of Detroit.

Dozens of guests toured Universal Watch's new store while sampling wine and hors d'oeuvres. Doerr also signed copies of her new tome, "Twelve Faces of Time: Horological Virtuosos."
