The Home Builders Association of Southeastern Michigan in Bingham Farms has announced its 2020 executive committee. David S. Compo will serve as president, Ben Templeton has been appointed first vice president, Rino Soave is treasurer, and Jason Minock is secretary. Robert M. Tedesco is immediate past president.
Vice presidents include Tim Capaldi, Vito Castellana, David Steuer, and Brian Szliter. H. William Freeman is associate vice president.
Compo began architectural drawing at the age of 12. At 15, he developed working plans for his parents’ building company, James D. Compo, Inc. He was employed by the company for 33 years. David now provides designs and operates his own company, Compo Builders Inc., which is co-owned with his brother.
Like his parents, who are HBA Hall of Fame members, Compo is carrying on the tradition of building custom homes and creating additions such as finished lower levels and other residential and commercial remodeling projects. He oversaw the building of homes that were provided for over 600 families throughout southeastern Michigan. Additionally, remodeling of indoor pools and spa projects were included in hundreds of homes.
“We are fortunate to have David leading our team for 2020,” says Michael Stoskopf, CEO of HBA. “His involvement, professionalism, and experience are great assets to our organization.”
The executive committee responsibilities include extending the building industry’s relationship with municipal and county governments and providing representation in the state and national associations. It represents 1,400 members.
