Panelists:

Robin Schneider – Robin has more than 10 years’ experience advocating on cannabis issues. She is the former executive director of the National Patient Rights Association where she helped medical marijuana patients advocate for state laws that ensure safe access to medicine. Most recently, Robin served as the finance director for the Coalition to Regulate Marijuana Like Alcohol, the organization that led the 2018 Proposal 1 campaign to legalize adult use cannabis for Michigan adults 21 years and older.

Barton Morris – Barton Morris is the principal attorney and founder of the Cannabis Legal Group in Royal Oak. He specializes in all cannabis related legal issues, including criminal defense, business law, licensing, consulting, land use, and real property. Morris is a top cannabis law lawyer in Michigan, having developed this expertise since 2008 with the enactment of the Michigan Medical Marijuana Act. He is a council member of the Marijuana Law Section of the Michigan Bar Association and chair of its science committee.

Calvin Johnson –  NFL Hall of Famer and former Detroit Lions star Calvin Johnson has partnered with The International Phytomedicines Institute at Harvard University, working to expand research and disseminate information on the health benefits of cannabis on a wide range of medical conditions, including chronic pain, CTE (chronic traumatic encephalopathy), and cancer treatment. Primitiv is a member of the Michigan Cannabis Industry Association, which advocates for a favorable political policy environment for Cannabis to thrive by promoting sensible laws, regulations, and setting industry best practices among members.

Rob Sims – As an ex-professional athlete turned entrepreneur, Rob has diligently pursued his passion for business through Locker Room Consulting and real estate ownership. His latest venture is Primitiv Group, a Michigan-based cannabis company co-founded with his former Detroit Lions teammate, Calvin Johnson, who have first hand experience with the medical benefits of cannabis and its ability to provide relief from chronic pain. Primitiv seeks to advance the cause of cannabis by researching the natural health benefits of the plant, while developing innovative applications for its many uses.
