Detroit-based Display Group held a media preview of their renovations to Packard Building #22, along I-94 on Detroit’s east side, on April 23. The event specialist company is spending $750,000 to renovate the warehouse into an event space, offices, and showroom.

Punch Bowl Social — a bar and entertainment venue that spans two levels of a 24,000-square-foot space — provided a sneak peek event for media on Dec. 9. The gastro-diner, which also offers bowing, arcade games, and private karaoke, opens today in The Z building in downtown Detroit.

The Detroit Lions previewed an expanded menu — including everything from the foot-long Detroit Style Chili Cheese Fry Coney Dog (Dearborn Sausage Co.) to Sugar House cocktails to Zingerman’s Gelato — at Ford Field on Sept. 4.

Bill’s Restaurant in Bloomfield Hills is now open for dinner and lunch and will eventually serve breakfast as well. The eatery, at 39556 Woodward Avenue, blends cuisine from the south of France with the hills of Italy.

Restaurateurs Robert and Melissa Jasper opened The Zenith on the first level of Detroit’s Fisher Building. It offers a fusion of southern and Mexican cuisine along with an authentic Tiki bar and private rooms.

Comerica Park is undergoing numerous improvements for the 2014 season, including new seats, a redesigned Pepsi Porch, new bathrooms, and new bleachers. The work is being done by Barton Malow in Southfield and Ideal Contracting in Detroit.
